Storage counts original photo files only. Preview copies are not counted. 1 GB is 1,000,000,000 bytes. If an account is already over its allowance, existing photos stay available and new uploads are blocked until originals are deleted.
Paid plans are not billed yet. Joining the waitlist from Subscription does not change the current plan. The account stays on Free until billing is available.
Feature changes are listed on the changelog. Fixes and internal work are not published there.
